AARP
AARP is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to addressing the needs and interests of persons 50 and older through information and education, advocacy and service.
Administration on Aging
AoA is the federal focal point and advocate agency for older persons and their concerns and provides information, referral, and outreach services to educate older people and their caregivers about the benefits and services available to help them.
Division of Aging and Adult Services
The Division of Aging and Adult Services, part of the NC Department of Health and Human Services, plans, administers, coordinates and evaluates community-based opportunities, services and protections to advance the social, health and economic well-being of older North Carolinians.
NC Family Caregiver Support Program
The NC Family Caregiver Support Program is part of a nationwide effort to link caregivers for the elderly with information and resources. The Full Circle of Care Web site offers information on a wide range of topics related to caregiving and links to resources nationwide.
NC Long Term Care Ombudsman Program
Long Term Care Ombudsmen serve as advocates for residents in nursing and adult care homes (rest homes/assisted living) throughout North Carolina. Ombudsmen receive and investigate complaints made by or on behalf of long-term care residents and work for their resolution. The Ombudsman Program is an advocacy program, not a regulatory agency. |
