Business Development
The Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments (COG) provides planning, facilitation and technical assistance for initiatives that promote business growth, jobs and opportunity for the region’s residents.
Regional planning
The COG is the planning and administrative agency for the Region K Economic Development District, designated by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration. It annually prepares an updated Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for each county and of the region.
Kerr-Tar Hub
The Hub is a collaborative effort of government, business and community leaders in the five-county region to create an enhanced technology park to attract jobs and spark business growth.
Perimeter North
Perimeter North is a collaborative effort of economic development agencies in the five-county region with partners from the utilities and community colleges that promote and market Region K. The COG provides logistical and fiscal support. Members of Perimeter North also coordinate their efforts with the Research Triangle Regional Partnership, which promotes economic development for a 13-county region that includes Region K.
