Economic Development

The Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments works to promote prosperity in the five-county region through:

• Business development – pursuing innovative strategies for business development in collaboration with local government, business and community leaders. The Kerr-Tar Hub, for instance, is a multi-county initiative to create a new type of advanced technology park to attract 21st-century jobs and opportunity to Region K.

• Natural resource stewardship – working with partners to develop balanced public policies that ensure the sustainable development of air, water and other natural resources in the region and surrounding areas.

• Small business loans – providing loans to help small businesses start, grow.

• Technical assistance – helping local governments identify and apply for grants, design programs and attract resources to meet the economic needs of their residents.
