Committee
The JLUS Policy
Committee ensures that the study meets its goals.
Voting members, appointed by Durham and Granville counties,
the towns of Butner and Stem, and the N.C. Department
of Health and Human Services are:
- Jack Day, Mayor, Town of Stem
- Hubert Gooch, Commissioner, Granville County
- Ellen Reckhow, Commissioner, Durham County
- Edgar Smoak, Councilman, Town of Butner
The N.C.
Carolina National Guard, N.C. State University, N.C.
Department of Agricultural and Consumer Sciences and
N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources
also provide support for the project and are represented
by non-voting members to the Policy Committee.
