Transportation Advisory Committee

The Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) provides policy direction for the Kerr-Tar Rural Planning Transportation Organization (RPO) planning process, and coordinates communications among the various policy boards involved in state and regional transportation planning.

TAC members represent local government boards in the region and N.C. Department of Transportation members for Division 5.

The TAC is responsible for:

• Approving the RPO’s annual work plan.
• Approving the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), which promotes coordination between local and state transportation improvements.
• Approving the Prospectus, which describes the role and operation of the RPO.
• Providing guidance on transportation goals and objectives
• Reviewing and approving changes to the RPO’s Long-Range Transportation Plans.
• Making policy decision affecting transportation planning in the RPO planning area.
