State Planning
The Kerr-Tar
RPO works with citizens and government agencies in the
region to develop and prioritize transportation projects
for the state's Transportation
Improvement Program (TIP).
The TIP is a seven-year plan that identifies project priorities, groups improvements into staging periods and includes estimated costs and revenues.
The RPO develops
its TIP Priority List every two years to communicate
the project priorities for the region and its communities.
It is a key step in the collaborative process used by
the RPO, transit operators and NC-DOT to develop the
TIP with public input.
